Architectural History Workshop: Visual Representation as a Critical Tool
Representations of architecture extend from perspective drawings to virtual reality. Whether supporting written analysis or introducing a mediatic result for research, visual representation has an increasingly significant role in communicating architectural history knowledge, engaging audiences with heritage tourism and supporting site management.
SAHGB’s annual Architectural History Workshop is designed to inspire students and early career researchers and heritage practitioners to consider architectural history beyond the written word. The workshop will introduce four areas of visual representation for architectural history research; photography, filmmaking, 3-D scanning and geographic information systems (GIS).
